Steve Jobs, who has been suffering from pancreatic cancer for quite sometime now, went out on a medical leave. But no details were given by Apple as to what the real situation is. And when there is no declared successor to Steve, the situation becomes even more critical.
Steve is 55 years old and has been waiting for a treatment. He has already gone through a liver transplant in 2009 and does not seem to have clearly come out of it. And experts have finally given their opinion saying that he is in dire need of personalized medical treatment.
Way back in 2004, the doctors had removed islet cell neuroendocrine tumor from his pancreas. The tumor is rare but if caught early it does not lead to cancer. Some have even recommended that he needs to be given Whipple surgical procedure.
It requires for parts of pancreas, stomach, bile duct and small intestine to be removed. But since he has been in the same condition for last 2-3 years, the reasons for his illness could be many others.
His gaunt physique can also be a sign of his undergoing this procedure. Post the surgery many patients lose weight for a few weeks and then come back to normal state. But no confirmations on either of these have come up.
